Skin Biology's new and patented copper peptide technology is Dr. Pickart's most effective copper peptide system to date. These breakdown resistant, improved copper peptides give a longer acting and stronger skin regeneration and can also be used with hydroxy acids and Retin-A. The single peptides (tripeptides or pentapeptides) used in many products are fragile, short acting and cannot be used with hydroxy acids. Extensive safety testing has proven Skin Biology's SRCP products to be nonallergenic and non irritating. Skin Biology's copper peptides have neither the allergenic sensitization problems of bacterial produced copper peptides nor the biological inactivity of copper complexes ("colorless copper") used by some irresponsible cosmetic companies.

Rigorous Testing by Leading Dermatologists

Skin Biology's skin remodeling products have been proven effective after rigorous testing by leading dermatologists. Results of clinical studies on the skin regeneration and anti-irritant actions of our products have been published in international dermatology journals. No cosmetic skin renewal products on the market have this level of independent published evidence of effectiveness.

Results from SRCPS have been reported in publications from over 30 leading universities and medical research institutes by leading dermatologists and scientists. For more information see Clinical Studies.

Proven Safety Record

The peptides developed at Skin Biology were based on a fraction of soybean peptides and used to form mixtures of copper peptides that are more like the actual situation in damaged skin. This type of peptide has remarkable safety properties and are used in fluids used for intravenous (IV) feeding of hospital patients. Such peptides are also used to make synthetic milk given to newborn infants when the babies have disease conditions that make them reject their mother's milk or milk from other animals such as cows or goats.

When creams containing copper peptides are applied to the skin, only very small amounts of the copper peptides penetrate into the skin. Scientific studies of copper peptides have found that the amount of copper taken into the body from such copper peptide creams in insignificant and does not raise total blood copper levels. However the microscopic amount of copper peptide that does enter the skin's upper layer is sufficient to help stimulate skin regeneration.

Skin Biology's SRCPs have passed numerous safety tests at the University of California at San Francisco and at the Shanghai Medical University. SRCPs creams have been found to be non-irritating and safe.

SRCP creams were found

  • non-irritating by the human patch test (5 days of heavy covering of product on the skin);
  • non-irritating on tape-stripped (injured) human skin;
  • to pass the Ames (bacterial) test for carcinogenicity;
  • to pass the guinea pig acute skin irritation test and was classified as a non-irritant;
  • to pass the human induced-allergy test and was classified as a non-allergen;
  • non-comedogenic in humans; and
  • to have no evidence of oral toxicity in mice.

SRCPs have proven superior to Kinerase and Kinetin.

SRCPs have proven superior to cortisone on irritated skin.
