Oily Skin: Face

Oily skin with excessive sebum production presents a special problem. The excessive sebum can harden and block the hair pores. The plug is called a comedo.

Plugs start as a white-colored blockage (or whitehead), then air oxidation darkens the sebum to form a "blackhead". Bacteria in the blocked hair pore begins to multiply and produce the irritation that becomes acne. Birth control pills, steroid hormones, and androgenic hormones such as testosterone can cause or aggravate acne. Acne tends to flare up during the menstrual cycle as hormonal fluctuations are experienced prior and during ovulation.

Oily Skin Products

The best treatment for oily skin is to use light oil-free serums. Copper peptides such as CP Serum and Super CP Serum are very effective as oily skin remedies. Or use Super GHK-Copper Serum if you have oily sensitive skin. Use a light amount of Sebum Be Gone on top of the copper peptides and follow up with LacSal Serum in the evening.

Treat oily skin gently and in time your skin's lipid (oil) balance should even out.

If you have very sensitive skin, always start with our mildest copper peptide: Super GHK-Copper Cream.

Use the serum/liquid oil-free versions of our products for larger areas of oily skin and spot treat with a SRCP cream on drier areas.

You can use the hydroxy acid and copper peptides together, but hydroxy acids work best if kept at a low pH and mixing with other products can raise the pH level.

If you do not see enough progress, try using a stronger hydroxy acid from one of our resellers. You can apply more hydroxy acid during the day. But reduce the amount if your skin become irritated.

Typical results take approximately 4-6 weeks of consistent use.
