Dr. Pickart, I have now been using your products for about three weeks and would like to report my experience: Folligen - I have a history of hair falling out for the last few years, therefore, have tried every conceivable product... For about three weeks I have been using a dilution of 50% Folligen Spray/50% purified water which I apply with a bottle dropper on parted hair at top of my head and rub in with Q-tip. I started slowly and built up to it over a week to10 days which allowed me to stop using minoxidil at night. Let me tell you, I've used many, many very expensive shampoos and conditioners (even one set that was over $150), and I must say that the Folligen Shampoo and Conditioner are the best I've used; not only for their restorative properties, but the texture and effectiveness. Understanding Hair Biology and Care

Normal skin and scalp pH is somewhat acid and in the range of 4.2. to 5.6. It varies from one part of the body to another and, in general, the pH of a man's skin is lower (more acid) than that of a woman's. The acid mantle inhibits the growth of foreign bacteria and fungi and the skin remains healthier, and has fewer blemishes. Acne, allergies and other skin problems become more severe when the skin become more alkaline. Thus dry scalp conditions such as irritated scalp, itchy flaky scalp, or red itchy scalp can result due to adverse reactions from harmful shampoo ingredients, hair dyes and chemical treatments.

The acid mantle is the combination of sebum (oils) and perspiration, on the skin's surface that protects the skin and renders the skin less vulnerable to damage and attack by environmental factors such as sun and wind and less prone to dehydration. The mantle also has strong anti-oxidant properties and is itself oxidized to protect the skin from oxidation. Sebum is naturally white but air oxidation turns it black (this is why "whitehead comedos" turn into "blackhead comedos").

Folligen Cream, Folligen Lotion, or Folligen Spray

Folligen Folligen is a non-drug product designed to improve scalp and hair follicle vitality. It is based on copper-peptides formulated to boost the health of your hair.

If the coloring is a problem, then use Folligen for Blondes which has no blue color.
